How has your conception of technology changed since the beginning of the semester? (If it hasn't changed, explain what your view is and why it hasn't changed)

I am less afraid of using technology in the classroom. I have always understood the importance of technology in the classroom but I have never felt comfortable enough with technology to use it. I am beginning to feel more and more at ease around technology so I am finding it to be more of a useful tool for me. I hope that as I continue to become more comfortable with technology I will use it more and more in my classroom.

Tips for staying safe online!

Dear Students,
our class and our world requires that we do a lot of work online. The internet is a great tool to use to improve your knowledge but you must be careful and protect yourself when you are on line. There is so much information on the internet it is easy to become lazy and rely on luck to keep you safe on line. This is the kind of thinking that can get your information stolen or get you in deeper trouble. You must be aware of what information you put on the internet and how it is protected. You must know how to keep your information safe and most importantly you must know how to keep yourself safe on the internet. I don't want you to be afraid of going online, I want you to be informed and to protect yourself so that you can use the internet and be in control.
General rules to follow for internet usage:

choose passwords that can not be easiy found either through personal sites or public records.
Do not have the same password for multiple sites, especially ones that contain important personal information.
If you suspect that someone is attempting to hack into your account promptly change your password.
Backup important documents (like your papers for my class!!!!) accidents happen so its important to have your important information stored in multiple places.
It is generally a good idea for all computer owners to backup important information on a hard drive then store that hard drive in a secure place.
Students may only visit approved sites.
Parental guidence devices should be on all computers.
Computers should be in a general area not a childs room.
Parents should be aware of what their children do online.
IF YOU EVER FEEL IN DANGER CONTACT THE AUTHORITES! DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH DANGEROUS STUFF ON THE INTERNET!

the use of fair use was prevalent in this video they used images for teaching about the Revolutionary war. They used a variety of different images and they were shown for a short amount of time. I am concerned about the songs used in the background and the amount of time they played.

WOW kids are hard! I spent the weekend with my whole family and it was awesome! I was a surrogate mom all weekend I still want kids and I love kids but I got some first hand experience in childrearing and it is harrrrrdddd! but totally worth it!

I am on my way to becoming a teacher and a class that will help me along my way is IPT! So some oof my blog will be involved with with this class! So here we go teaching away!

Well I am off to London! Oh my gosh I am so excited I can hardly wait! I'm going on a BYU study abroad for a little under two months! I can't even wait for this adventure, I have a few goals to accomplish while I am there!

I have to meet and at the very least flirt with all of my favorite British/Irish/Scottish actors! I love accents sooooo much!
I have to snogg! (funny since I am basically going to a British convent with 40 other girls!)
I have to go to my form of mecca which is the globe theater!
I have to make awesome British friends!
I have to buy British tourist crap!
I have to get my picture taken at platform 9 and 3/4!
I have to live every moment like I am in a Jane Austen novel! Where the flip is MR.DARCY??

I hope to accomplish these and many other goals so please stay tuned to see how Abby Hartman takes London by Storm! You know the British invasion? Its payback time baby! what now!!!!!!
